Good Afternoon,
I was just reaching out to give an update on our dog Andy (7 year old BMC). My boyfriend Cody and I adopted Andy back in 2017. He was afraid of men and we were told he needed to be the only dog in our home. Andy more than warmed up to men and is now the proud big brother to his two little sisters Bella (2 year old mountain cur) and Lulu (1 year old chihuahua). All three love to run and play together in the yard. He has done so well with other dogs, we love that for him! Recently, we entered him in the Janesville Gazette’s Superstar Companion Contest. This contest benefited the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin. Considering that we adopted him from you guys, we thought it would be a perfect way to help raise funds for our local shelter. Andy was one of 40 pets entered in this contest that started 9/14 and ended 10/11. Andy came in first place! We are so proud of him! It is amazing that a dog who was heart worm positive, abused horribly…we later found out he has been shot by a shot gun multiple times…there are 30-40 BBs encapsulated in his body, we also learned he had a bad hip injury that did not heal properly (he goes to therapy weekly), along with some burns…..has now won a contest! We will get to spoil him and his sisters at our local pet store with a $125 shopping spree. We just thought we would share his success story. For us, it has always been adopt don’t shop. We love him, our family and friends love him, “Big Andy” is spoiled rotten.
Thanks for what you do to help other animals like Andy.
